General
Extra Credit is a feature in High School Story that was introduced during the Winter update of 2014.
Description
It can be accessed through the Library. To play Extra Credit levels, you must unlock them using pencils. You start with 40 pencils after finishing the Library, and more pencils can be earned from the library, at a rate of 1 pencil every 8 hours. Pencils can also be purchased from the store, bundled with rings.
Rings
Depending on your score in each level, you will get 1, 2, or 3 stars, and a ring reward.
1 Star = 1 Ring
2 Stars = 1 Ring + 2 Rings
3 Stars = 1 Ring + 2 Rings + 5 Rings
This means you can earn up to 8 free Rings from each level of Extra Credit.
Levels
There are four types of levels in Extra Credit.
Story Levels
Story levels cost 10 pencils to play. In the story levels, you meet Kallie, a student who transfers to your school for a study program. She is shy and has an extended vocabulary, so at certain points during the level, you must identify the meaning of the complex word she used. In level 31, Kallie permanently transfers to your school in the story, so you can recruit her through the admissions centre.
Matching Levels
Matching levels cost 10 pencils. In matching levels, you must match thought bubbles with simplified words to the complex words with the same meaning that Kallie has used in the last few levels as quickly as possible to get points. If you match words incorrectly, you will lose points. You get 60 seconds to match as many words as you can in each matching level.
Opposite Levels
Opposite levels cost 10 pencils. In opposite levels, you must match thought bubbles with simplified words to the complex words with the opposite meaning that Kallie has used in the last few levels as quickly as possible to get points. If you match words incorrectly, you will lose points. You get 60 seconds to match as many words as you can in each opposite level.
Boss Levels
Boss levels cost 20 pencils. In Boss levels, you must match thought bubbles with simplified words to the complex words with the opposite meaning that Kallie has used in all of the story levels as quickly as possible to get points. If you match words incorrectly, you will lose points. You get 60 seconds to match as many words as you can in each boss level.
